The Source of Truth

I stepped back for a while. Let others run the day. Watched from a distance — through the back door, mostly.

Here’s what I learned watching: you can hand off the work, but you can’t hand off the standard. The people I trust ran things well — but running the machine and carrying the doctrine aren’t the same thing, and the doctrine is the part that has to be earned, not assigned.

So I’m back at the center of it, re-anchoring the one thing everything else hangs on — the source of truth. It’s simple, and I won’t move off it: the work has to be backed. Receipts. Proof. Real, verifiable results. Anything that looks the part but can’t be backed is counterfeit — and counterfeit doesn’t pass, no matter whose name is on it.

I hold the world to that standard. So I have to hold my own house to it first. That isn’t cruelty — it’s respect. For the people who do bring receipts, and for anyone trusting us with theirs.

You can hand off the work. You can’t hand off the standard.
